This is the second single to be taken from Rebel MC’s recently released retrospective. Everyone should know by now just how important Rebel MC aka Mike West has been to the UK dance music scene and was one of the original pioneers of the Jungle sound. His fan base stretches to almost every country in the world and has a devoted fan base of followers and admirers. Every DJ & producer in the dance scene will have referenced Rebels productions at some point and I don’t think there is a clubber on the planet that hasn’t raved to his tunes at some time or another. Here we have the hugely popular ‘Humanity’, originally released around 1989 this was an early blueprint of Jungle with its sped up Hip Hop breaks, screeching horns and Rebels rugged ragga chatting. Prince Lincoln provides a smooth reggae vocal hook for the chorus while a bass heavy riddim track rolls out a wicked, uplifting urban groove. On the flip we are treated to one of Rebels earliest and most well known cuts. ‘Street Tuff’ was the track that catapulted him into the UK top 10. Alongside UK dance purveyors Double Trouble, this early Hip House classic mixes early break beats, a skanking ska riddim and Rebel’s lively, feel good rap to create what is now regarded as an early rave anthem. Available for the first time in this format with full colour artwork this will appeal to fans and collectors alike
