Gemmy returns to form with this monster of an EP, delivering in both quality and quantity for the 3rd offering on his World Of Wonders (W.O.W) imprint. 4 excellent tracks here brim with energy and innovation. * The title track 'Tales Of The Deep' lures us into the EP with a chilling vocal sample that warns of the danger ahead. This beastly rhythm lurks somewhere amidst the worlds of grime, dubstep, purple and Timbaland – perfectly balancing dancefloor energy with depth and dynamics. * Next up is 'Freq Factory' – a stomping, almost 4/4 beat that pounds energetically to a squelching, bubbling bassline with glitching sound fx and warm pads also fuelling the journey forwards. * Third in the tracklist is 'Dark Dundry', which blends the softer tones of chiming bells and inviting pads with a laser like bassline that swells and slices through the skipping beat in a future electro style. * Last in the pack is Gemmy's 'No 1 Stunners' – a recent staple of his sets and crowd favourite – no doubt for the firey punch it packs with it's chunky bassline and filmic sample cuts.
