Hailing from North London, Artificial Intelligence are a production duo comprising of Gambit and Glenn. As a production
unit, their releases have covered a variety of drum & bass styles. Their last 5 releases – including “Desperado”, “No
Return”, and “Bloodlines” – shot to number 1 in the BBC d’n’b sales charts, and their single “Uprising” was voted by the
public as the biggest d’n’b track on BBC Radio 1 in 2006. A.I.’s wide-ranging sound has made them popular with DJs on
the d’n’b scene and across all genres of music. They receive regular support from the likes of Grooverider, Fabio, LTJ
Bukem, Goldie, Hype, Andy C, and Chase & Status, as well as further afield from Pete Tong, Zane Lowe, Annie Mac,
Mary-Anne Hobbs, Mistajam and Rob Da Bank.
* Their popularity has made them in-demand remixers, even to the point of dabbling with commercial labels and
remixing some of the biggest tracks of the past few years. They’ve added their deft touch to Kelis’ “Trick Me”, Eric Prydz’
“Slammin’”, Fat Freddys Drop’s “Cays Crays”, as well as Roni Size and Goldie.
* A.I. pioneered a highly distinctive and influential sound that subtly mixes precisely crafted grooves with dancefloorfriendly
sub bass. Their sound is made using vintage synths, effect units, compressors, outboard mixing desks and
samplers. A.I.’s ethos has always been to spread their music to as many people as possible. “That's the whole reason for
doing it in the first place,” they say. “It's the satisfaction of making it but also of spreading it to as many people as
possible.”
* Yet A.I. don’t stop at just making good music: they are on the top of their game on the DJ circuit as well. Their diversity
and adaptability has made them regular headliners at major festivals, and they regularly play at Fabric and other d’n’b
events around the country.
* The A.I. duo have finally finished their much anticipated debut “Stand Alone”. The album takes you on a complete
journey through all the d’n’b styles, and features collaborations with close allies dBridge (Exit), Krust (Full
Cycle/Reprezent), Marky (Innerground/Brazil) and the vocal talents of DRS, Jenna G, and Steo.
