* Next up in the SGN:LTD series is a solid 12 from new production
outfit Code 3, comprising of SP:MC, Jubei and Dakuan. This
dynamic trio are no strangers to the scene, with SP having traded
his mic for the studio in the past with devastating results and
both Jubei and Dakuan with many production credits to their names,
this crew mean business and are ones to watch for 2009.
* Delta builds with ethereal pads and dark undertones that work
around a clean stepping break as we hear a mid-range bass bark
beginning to seep into the mix. After the brief dropout the subs
roll in to couple up with the snapping bass riff and were off
on a heavy Virus inspired journey for the Shogun faithful to step
to. Massive with the likes of Goldie, Firece, Ed Rush and Doc
Scott amongst others.
* Moving on to Escape Hatch and the vibe continues with an eerie
intro awash with computer bleeps and distant tuner samples before
it leaps straight into a heads down, no nonsense piece of lo-fi
funk infused with the Bristol sound of yester-year. The subtle
filtered b-line thumps and morphs throughout and by the second
drop you have no choice but to bring out the screw-face! One
for the steppers!
