Calibre- SIGLP002 (Signature)
	Classic unreleased Calibre D&B productions (from 1997 to 2005) finally make onto 4 X 12" Vinyl. There aren’t many artists that have a veritable vault of back dated and in demand tracks, but Calibre is an exception to the rule. None of the tracks on his ‘Shelf Life’ Compilation tracks have ever been played onto plastic and have only been played by a select few lucky enough to have been given them on plate or, more recently, CDR. ‘Venue & Mars’ seems to be the track everyone’s purring about and with good reason too, but it’s his remix of Klute’s Hospital classic, ‘Part Of Me’. that really catches the ear. Not many would or could try to remix such a tune, but he does it with ease. Quality stuff! ‘Acrobat’ is another track that everyone’s waiting for, being the kind of tune that epitomises seminal nights such as Speed, and ‘Easy On My Mind’ furthers that cause with its funky swinging bassline. ‘Re-entry’ has a more sinister feel to it and will turn heads, while ‘Peace Of Mind’ is quite simply classic Calibre. But who am I to tell you which tracks stand out? What I can say though is that Dominic Martin will go down in drum and bass history as one of its legendary producers. Consistent and prodigiously talented, this compilation acts as a testament to his unique style. This is a great album that everyone, regardless of music tastes, should go out and buy.
