Introducing a brand new imprint from the Grid Recordings Group which caters for the deeper beats, soulful sounds and allsorts of styles 2006 saw the Grid Recordings Group expand their musical horizons with the launch of the Liquid Allsorts series. Releases from artists such as DJ Marky & Bungle, A Sides, Heist and Electrosoul System confirmed that there would be no compromise on quality, despite moving away from what people may necessarily have expected from the label. As a result of the critical and commercial success of the Liquid Allsorts releases on Grid the decision was made give to the series its own label, and so after months of planning we present ‘allsorts’ Kicking off the label in his own inimitable style is Russia’s finest export and rising star of the international scene, Electrosoul System The current issue of Knowledge Magazine tips Electrosoul as “being instrumental in giving Russia a voice in drum & bass worldwide”. With productions like the two on offer here, it is not hard to see why. ‘Falling’ is deep, sublime drum & bass at its very best - characterised by rolling beats, cleverly edited vocals, lush pads and warm rounded bass. This is one of those rare, versatile tracks that could slide easily into a dancefloor set, or alternatively one youcan put on, sit back and drift away with...‘Sing’ begins with deep atmospherics in the intro and grows into an uplifting piano led roller. Delicately played keys and female vocals give this track real energy as ESS effortlessly switches up the melody, chords and whole vibe of the track without you ever realising. This is one producer who we simply can’t speak highly enough of, and with tracks forthcoming on Teebee’s Subtitles imprint, Horizons, as well as more tracks lined up for Allsorts, this is one producer with a very bright future ahead of him.
