Hot on the heels of the globally acclaimed first 12” from Counterstrike, we travel from South Africa to Scandinavia for Revolution’s second excursion. Finland’s Konsta Mikkonen (aka Muffler, Konsta, Axis Of Evil & Unknown Soldier) let’s two of his alter egos battle it out. In the blue corner Konsta delivers a spine-tingling epic that has been tickling the taste buds of DJ’s like London Electricity and High Contrast. “Butterfly” begins with beautiful synth washes and a memorable piano hook before the warbling sub bass thunders through. This cinematic piece is a rich euphoric piece that creates the perfect end of night vibe. In the red corner, Muffler’s “Mercy” begins with subtle drum patterns, building underneath stark atmospherics before the forewarning vox sample makes way for the onslaught of intricate breaks.
