Potential Bad Boy- FRONT078 (Frontline) Potential Bad Boy- FRONT078 (Frontline)
When Pascal moved his Frontline imprint over to NUM, he really wanted a fresh start, a new beginning to take the label back to what it was. This is the final instalment of the re-launch, the fourth in a batch of tracks covering all the angles & elements of what Frontline is. Four separate artists, one fresh from the US (DJ Evol), one fresh from the kru (DJ Denz), one dance-floor banger from a player (DJ Hazard)… then, the finishing touch, a touch of class, “Touch Me” from one of the most talented artists in modern Jungle. Potential Bad Boy helped nurture jungle / drum n bass in it’s fledgling years, returning back to the scene two years ago after a call from DJ Hype & the playaz camp. Coming straight back into the thick of it, PBB had one EP swiftly followed by one of the most successful sellers last year “You’re Mine”. Released as part of the Dubplate Killaz LP, this lovers rock smash hit radio’s everywhere and is one of the most perfectly crafted releases of 2004. “Touch Me” is of that vain, beautiful music layered with powerful bass lines & beats, the elements of jungle are by no means lost in the melodies. Flip the 12” over and you get “Music So Loud”, the more standard DnB effort, one for the snobs who may turn their nose up at the music, completing an awesome and instantly sellable release. So the re-birth has ended, all we have left now is the real meaning of a second coming… hold on tight.
