Axwell featuring Max’C’s ‘I Found U’ was the soundtrack to the summer of love ’07. Traversing the musical landscape from ultra cool club hit to bona fide chart smash with ease, it reached No.5 in the UK charts in August. Now, as the year draws to an end, Positiva releases 3 special remixes that will bring those dance floor memories flooding back. The keen-eared d&b heads amongst you may already have caught High Contrast’s two stunning rerubs, they’ve been peak time additions to his recent DJ sets, and staples of Annie Mac’s Radio 1 show in the past few weeks. For this special release, High Contrast has provided two, equally floor-shaking remixes, the Berlin After Dark mix for some serious heads-down action, and the Old Skool Revenge mix, which nods back to the tracks early 90’s roots. Kicks Like A Mule make a welcome return; injecting ‘I Found U’ with some classic British rave touches reworked for the Noughties dance floor. As thoughts turn to tracks of the year and such like, you can be certain that ‘I Found U’ will feature highly in many a clubber and DJs annual Top 10, with Axwell’s Remode mix having damn near united dance music’s now disparate sub-genres, with DJs as varied as Annie Mac, Pete Tong, High Contrast, David Guetta, and more making it a highlight of their sets. An Essential New Tune on Radio 1, and playlisted at every major radio and TV station, it received glowing coverage from the mainstream and specialist press, and further cemented Axwell’s reputation as this year’s leading dance producer. And in addition to his lauded DJ sets, it’s no doubt helped his recent jump in the Top 100 DJs Poll, where he became 2007’s highest climber, reaching number No.33.
