The sampler to the Co-Lab Recordings ‘Straight Out The Lab’ LP is here, and it’s a monster effort. First up on the A side is label co-owner Heist with a straight up Jump Up flavour, spiralling percussive breakbeats and a high pitched skank keep this one moving along tightly with a cheeky vocal snippet. It’s ‘Metal Flange’ that everyone’s been getting knotted knickers about though with its Metalheadz-like atmospherics, rudeboy attitude and tonnes of weighty bass. Ruder than Jimmy Carr on his period.
