20/03/06Part of the limited pressing Shadow XV series of remastered 12" classics from their back catalogue. The phenomenal success of 'Walk This Land' is down to its use in Guy Richie's cool career booster movie 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels', which aided the tracks ascension to the UK Top 20, a long road from it's debut on the 'Storms from the East' compilation where it made it to side C of the vinyl!l'Walk This Land' (Paradise mix) is more of a dancefloor mix, with looped vocals, hard skipping beats and a phat bass line proving that an artist can do a great remix of their own work.lThe '99 mix' is pure dancefloor groovy jazz, more in keeping with the sound the Rollers were predominently known for and much more of the original instrumentaion is used than in the Paradise mix. The beats are tougher and the vocals are gone, leaving the obvious brass and flute hooks together with the superb live double bass line to bring back memories of the movie.
